Most likely they would be vinegar. All unexpected wine discoveries I have made, for example when aged relatives have died, were terribly awful. That might be different if the wine was always stored perfectly. There are some bottles in the castle, and I am sure, they are vinegar as well. They serve a trist life as showcases. « C’est la cave du vin. » needs some bottles.

But I tasted to Paris a Sauternes 1983 and it was amazing !
Add 40 years. But yes, if people have a good wine cellar and treat the bottles right and if the wine was of the right kind it must be amazing. 🙂
